Growing up in central PA, Randy’s
musical endeavors began at the age
of 7 when he first picked up the guitar,
influenced by his father and older
brother, who both played guitar. After
he turned 8, his father asked him if he
would like to try the bass guitar and
bought him a used bass and amp. He
took to it immediately and was soon
playing in church and at private
gatherings with his dad and a few
others, just for fun. At age 13, Randy
and two friends from school played
the junior high school talent show and
Randy became known, locally, as a
musician. By the time he turned 16,
Randy and 4 other guys (all near the
same age) were playing every
weekend at numerous clubs in the
Williamsport/Lock Haven area, in their
band Merlin. The 80’s and 90’s
allowed Randy to play with other well
known central PA bands like
Borderline, Sinner and Toyz.
Randy moved to NEPA in 1998 and
was soon looking to play again. He
helped to form the band Gunner and
later was asked to play in Bad Hair
Day, a local hair band “act”, which he
did for 5 years. Randy’s musical
influences come from Rock, Hard
Rock, 80”s Heavy Metal and
Progressive Rock. But his favorite
band has been Rush, since he first
heard them in 1976. Randy brings a
little bit of a “hard edge” and a whole
lot of fun to the Double Cross line-up
with his booming bass and high-end
vocals. He says he really enjoys
playing the classics and is having a
great time with all the Double Cross
followers. He is here to stay.
